SPRING HAS ARRIVED!
Other than the pollen kicking ass and taking names {Any other sufferers in the house?}, I am SOOO happy to see Spring! If you didn’t know, Spring is one of my favorite seasons, just like pink is one of my favorite colors. Being around them both just brings a cheerfulness to my mood that I can’t explain, so you know when I wear pink in the Spring, it’s a #lituation.
Yep. Just like this…
One of my favorite pieces in my closet is this thrifted midi skirt that I purchased at my local Goodwill about 3 years ago. When I say that I wear this puppy with EVERYTHING…!?!?!? I mean it. Her versatility is matchless and because of her style and shape, she can be taken from desk to date in seconds! She’s just love, man… Oh! And did I mention she has POCKETS?! *insert googly eyes* #BeStillMyBeatingHeart
To transition this piece from winter to Spring, I paired her with a quarter-length sweater that I bought from Avenue a couple years back on clearance. This is also a perfect transition piece because it’s light enough to wear during the day when it’s warm, but cool enough to keep “The Hawk” off your back at night! I also love this sweater because it’s on trend, with the return of 80’s glam this season. With all this glitter, all that’s missing is some Phyllis Hyman shoulder pads and I’m back in 1986. -_ –
To bring it all together and add a touch of “texture” to the look, I rocked my Leopard print flats that I purchased from Target a couple years ago. These shoes were perfection because the gold studs played off the glitter in the sweater and complimented the pink in the skirt.
Style Tip: Wanna add a little pizzaz to a basic look? Add a pop of leopard! Most leopard prints are considered a neutral, therefore, it’s able to compliment most color combinations and add a bit of character to your look! Adding leopard shoes, earrings, scarf, or even a handbag can take a look from “Meh.” to “Marvelous” in a matter of seconds!
I love looks like this because they can be worn just about anywhere. Ain’t nobody got time to be switching outfits throughout the day or carrying around a bunch of stuff to try to “create” a look for after work plans! This look is office ready, as is, but a quick swap in accessories and shoes, it can easily be an “After 5” look or even a cute nod for date-night. That’s the beauty of multi-functional pieces… You can switch the game up in a matter of seconds, without the rigmarole of changing a whole bunch of clothes.

I think it’s safe to say that this skirt and I are going to be together for a long time. I’ve worn her with denim, graphic tees, print tops and the list keeps growing and growing. The only thing that could make it better is if I found her sister in a cobalt blue… *gasp* OMG! #YallAintReady
