Ya might want to grab a glove for this mug because this tea I’m about to give you is HOT! You ready?! Catch this…
Being an entrepreneur is not fun.
Let me say it again for the folks in the back…
BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR IS NOT FUN.
I know it’s hard to believe, especially when you see people outchere in these business streets, booming, making power moves and doing it all so effortlessly. But I guarantee if you ask any of those folks why they stay in the thick of the grind, not a soul will say “OMG! Because I’m having a blast and it’s the most fun I’ve had in my entire life!”
Now, don’t get me wrong… Entrepreneurship is one of the most rewarding experiences, but truth be told, it’s tiresome, frustrating, and just downright hard! So what keeps someone motivated in those “F*** this shit!” moments? Your why.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur or not, your “why” is your forever motivation for everything in life. This is your purpose, your reasoning, the very meaning of why you do what you do. That’s why it’s important to define what it is and what it means to you.
For me, I have quite a few “whys”. Now what I won’t do is bore you with ALL of them (Because it goes down!), but I will share with you one of my mains. And it’s this lady right here.
When you find a business partner that “gets” you, it’s like finding someone to love for the rest of your life. There’s a chemistry that MUST take place for you to be successful, both individually and collectively. That’s how things rock between Kiki and I.
Even bigger than that, there’s nothing doper than sharing a business with your “purpose twin”. You know the one that shares your passion and drive and does everything with flair, just like you? That’s how we roll. That’s why I feel we’ve been able to survive these past three years.
Through these years, we have encouraged and motivated each other through the trenches and back. There have been days when we’ve faced disappointment and even defeat, but we have found the strength through each other to keep going.
Another reason why she’s my main is because she pushes me beyond my own limits. Whether in style or business, she is forever testing my creativity and calling bullshit on my procrastination. Oh yeah, little known fact about me. I procrastinate… a lot. Sometime until the VERY last hour. Don’t judge, just pray, okay? But I digress…
Your why is essential to your success.
Whether it’s your spouse, your kids, your money or whatever, take time to determine why it is that you go as hard as you do. Always keep that (or those) reasons at the forefront of your mind and when you’re faced with defeat or discouragement, they’ll be right there, tapping you on the shoulder, cheering you right along.
Their presence is worth more than gold. If it wasn’t, there would be no byKikiSol.
WHO OR WHAT ARE YOUR “WHYS” FOR GOING AS HARD FOR YOUR DREAMS?
Until the next time, live F.A.B with no regrets,
